Designers You Need to Know at LFW – Markus Lupfer SS 17

This is the third in a series of posts showcasing designers that dress Selena Gomez.

The first designer I am featuring from LFW is Markus Lupfer.

His Story

Markus Lupfer graduated in 1997 from London’s University of Westminster with a first-class honors degree ( I graduated from the same university, but several years earlier). His final year collection was bought by a London boutique, Koh Samui, and the British Fashion Council awarded him the New Generation Award in 2001.

The Markus Lupfer umbrella brand has evolved to include menswear, accessories and footwear collections bearing all the Markus Lupfer hallmarks and essence of wit and playfulness.

 

Look 1

A pink floral shirt worn over pink retro style shorts as a tunic. I also love the apple shaped sunglasses, and we have seen Selena in a similar necklace before at the 2016 iHeart Radio Music Awards. I can see her wearing this complete outfit at a Meet and Greet!

Look 2

At first glance this looks like just a black floral dress, but closer inspection reveals that the bodice is sheer, and the flowers are embroidered. The mix and match floral fabric look was popular in the 1980s. This would look good on Selena for a radio chat show.

 

Look 3

How Selena looks chic at the airport: in this sheer black embroidered bomber jacket and royal blue trousers with a white side stripe. Luxe sportswear is a trend that started this year, and it looks like it is continuing

Look 4

The satin bomber jacket returns for Spring, and here is it layered over a black floral dress with pleated skirt, and sheer bodice. A versatile look that would be perfect for Selena on the album promotion circuit.
